I only quote from the NIV for comparison with other, actually reliable translations. As the “translators” have worked very hard to produce a “politically correct” and “gender-friendly” document, I agree with those who refer to this particular work as the “Non-Inspired Version” or “Nearly Inflammable Version.” (So to me it’s the I'm Not Interested [in this] Version.)
