Learn Genesis
Each page in this section provides an overview for learning purposes of each parsha (Torah Portion) in Genesis. (This is an in-process project, so not all pages will have the media.)
First on the page is an “infograph” which visually presents the content of the parsha. This is followed by a (usually) brief summary of the entire parasha, based solely on the text as given in The Complete Jewish Bible. The use of the names often varies between their Hebrew names and the English rendering of their name, and that may be a bit confusing at times, and for that I apologize.
Then there is an “explainer,” a brief video overview, usually about 7 minutes or so, of just the text of the portion. This video is similar to a PowerPoint presentation. Next to that is a longer audio overview or “deep dive” into the text in the form of a discussion between two commentators. This generally runs between 15 and 30 minutes, depending upon the complexity of the text.
The next segments are based on my paraphrase of the text, plus my notes and comments. First is a brief “explainer,” and finally the second deep dive is an extensive discussion or debate of my paraphrase, notes, and comments on the parsha.
