The Flood and the Nations of Earth
This passage details the biblical history of Noach, a righteous man chosen by God to survive a global flood intended to purge the earth of violence and corruption. Following divine instructions, he constructs a massive ark to shelter his family and pairs of every living creature through the duration of the storm. After the waters recede, God establishes a covenant never to destroy the world by water again, symbolized by the rainbow. The narrative then tracks the expansion of humanity through the descendants of Noach’s three sons, who eventually populate the earth’s various regions. Finally, the text describes the Tower of Babel, where the human race is divided by confused languages, ending with the specific lineage leading to Avram.
