Nephilim? Demons? UFOs?
Don’t be Deceived

This is a really “touchy” subject. I have a lot of ideas floating around in my head, but haven’t gotten to the place I can actually start writing. Probably much of what I will wind up writing will be addressed in Pastor Nolan’s message series (videos below).
I will, of course, find it necessary to address the “Ancient Aliens” TV series on the History Channel, now in its 19th season. If you are not familiar with the “Ancient Astronaut Theory,” it holds that all of the “gods” and other supernatural beings in all the world’s religion were alien astronauts that were mistaken by primative people as deity.
Ancient alien theorists believe that thousands of years ago, extraterrestrials landed on Earth, where they were hailed as gods and helped shape human civilization. But what proof could possibly exist for such an encounter? … “Ancient Aliens” explores the controversial theory that extraterrestrials have visited Earth for millions of years. From the age of the dinosaurs to ancient Egypt, from early cave drawings to continued mass sightings in the US, each episode in this hit HISTORY series gives historic depth to the questions, speculations, provocative controversies, first-hand accounts and grounded theories surrounding this age old debate. Did intelligent beings from outer space visit Earth thousands of years ago? (https://www.history.com/shows/ancient-aliens, accessed 3 October 2023)
The Bible tells us that the universe is only about 6,000 years old, not the nearly 14 billion years old that most scientists claim. Unfortunately, most scientific theory is based firmly in the presupposition that there is no Creator God who spoke everything into existence. (Psalm 14:1; 53:1) It is thus necessary to create theories that allow everything to have naturalistically from nothing through a series of cosmic accidents over the course of multiplied billions of years. This “cosmic evolution” is one of the primary tenets of the Secular Humanist Religion.

In these videos Pastor Nolan dances all around Divine Council Theology but doesn’t quite land on it. Remember that after the Septuagint was translated from the Hebrew Tanakh into Greek all the “white hat” spirit beings were lumped into the class “angels” and all the “black hat” spirit beings were lumped into the class “demons,” regardless of their actual “species” or “job description.” So when Pastor Nolan is talking about “fallen angels” it is important to think “benéi Elohim.”
