If you do not believe that Genesis chapters 1 thru 11 are literally true, how can you possibly believe that John 3:16 is literally true?

j. The Tenth Plague Announced (11:1-10) [WHICH GODS?]

[Egypt • 7 Apr 1462 BCE]

1 ADONAI said to Moshe, “I will bring one more plague upon Pharaoh and Egypt, and after that he will let you leave this place. And when he does let you go, he will drive you out copmpletely. 2 Now tell all of the people to have every man and woman to ask their neighbor for aarticles of silver and gold.” 3 ADONAI made the Egyptians respond kindly toward the people. Moreover, Moshe was highly regarded as a very great man by Pharaoh’s officials and all the people of Egypt.

(iv) 4 So Moshe said [to Pharaoh], “This is what ADONAI says: ‘About midnight I will go throughout Egypt, 5 and all the firstborn in the whole land of Egypt will die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh sitting on his throne, to the firstborn of the slave-girl at the handmill, even the firstborn of all the livestock. 6 Then a great cry will go up throughout all the land of Egypt, such as has never been heard before, nor will ever be heard again. 7 But among all of the Isra'elites not even dog will snarl at man or beast. Then you may know that ADONAI makes a distinction between the Egyptians and Isra'el. 8 All these officials of yours will come and bow down before Me, saying, “Get out! You and all the people who follow you!”’ After that I will leave!” Then he stormed out angrily from Pharaoh’s presence.

9 ADONAI said to Moshe, “Pharaoh won’t listen to you, so that My wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.” 10 Moshe and Aharon did all these wonders before Pharaoh, but ADONAI hardened Pharaoh’s heart so that he would not let the Isra'elites go out of his land.
