vi. The Offerings of Dedication from the Twelve Tribes (7:1-89)
(A: v, S: iv) 1 On the day that Moshe had finished setting up the tabernacle, he anointed and consecrated it and all its furniture, along with the altar and all its utensils. 2 And the leaders of Isra'el, the heads of their families, presented their offerings. These were the tribal leaders who had supervised the taking of the census. 3 They brought their offering before ADONAI: six covered carts and twelve oxen — one ox for each leader and a cart for each two leaders — and presented them before the tabernacle. 4 ADONAI told Moshe, 5 “Accept these gifts from them, so that they may be used in the work of the Tent of Meeting. Haftarah Naso is Shof’tim (Judges) 13:2–25
Listen to it read from the Complete Jewish Bible
Haftarah Naso: Shof’tim (Judges) 13:2–25
2 There was a certain man of Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and childless. 3 The Angel of ADONAI appeared to the woman, and said to her, “See now, you are barren and childless; but you shall conceive and bear a son. 4 Now therefore please beware and drink no wine nor strong drink, and don’t eat any unclean thing; 5 for, Hinneh, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Isra'el out of the hand of the Philistines.”
6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, “A man of God came to me, and his face was like the face of the angel of God, very awesome. I didn’t ask him where he was from, neither did he tell me his name; 7 but he said to me, ‘Hinneh, you shall conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink. Don’t eat any unclean thing, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’”
8 Then Manoah entreated ADONAI, and said, “Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.”
9 God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah, her husband, wasn’t with her. 10 The woman hurried and ran, and told her husband, saying to him, “Hinneh, the man who came to me that day has appeared to me,”
11 Manoah arose and followed his wife, and came to the man, and said to him, “Are you the man who spoke to my wife?”
He said, “I am.”
12 Manoah said, “Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?”
13 The Angel of ADONAI said to Manoah, “Of all that I said to the woman let her beware. 14 She may not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing. Let her observe all that I commanded her.”
15 Manoah said to the Angel of ADONAI, “Please stay with us, that we may make a young goat ready for you.”
16 The Angel of ADONAI said to Manoah, “Though you detain me, I won’t eat your bread. If you will prepare a burnt offering, you must offer it to ADONAI.” For Manoah didn’t know that he was the Angel of ADONAI.
17 Manoah said to the Angel of ADONAI, “What is your name, that when your words happen, we may honor you?”
18 The Angel of ADONAI said to him, “Why do you ask about my name, since it is beyond comprehension.
19 So Manoah took the young goat with the meal offering, and offered it on the rock to ADONAI. Then the angel did an amazing thing as Manoah and his wife watched. 20 For when the flame went up toward the sky from off the altar, the Angel of ADONAI ascended in the flame of the altar. Manoah and his wife watched; and they fell on their faces to the ground. 21 But the Angel of ADONAI didn’t appear to Manoah or to his wife any more. Then Manoah knew that he was the Angel of ADONAI. 22 Manoah said to his wife, “We shall surely die, because we have seen God.”
23 But his wife said to him, “If ADONAI were pleased to kill us, he wouldn’t have received a burnt offering and a meal offering at our hand, and he wouldn’t have shown us all these things, nor would he have told us such things as these at this time.” 24 The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and ADONAI blessed him. 25 ADONAI’s Spirit began to move him in Mahaneh Dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Apostolic Writings for Parsha Naso: Yochanan (John) 7:53–8:11; Acts 21:17–32
Yochanan (John) 7:53–8:11
7 53Then each went to his own home, 8 1but Yeshua went to the Mount of Olives.
2Very early one morning, Yeshua went to the Temple courts. All the people came to Him, and He sat down to teach them.
a. The Woman taken in Adultery (8:3-11)[a]
3The Torah-teachers and the P'rushim[GN] brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. They made her in the middle of them 4and said, “Rabbi, this woman was caught in the very act of adultery. 5In the Torah Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do You?” 6They said this to trap Him, in order to have grounds for accusing Him.
But Yeshua stooped down and began to write in the dust with his finger. 7But when they continued to question Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin throw the first stone at her.” 8Then He stooped down agan and began writing in the dust.
9When they heard this, being convicted by their conscience, they began to leave one by one, beginning with the older ones, until Yeshua was left alone with the woman standing there. 10Then Yeshua, seeing no one there but the woman, straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are your accusers? Has no one condemned you?”
11She answered, “No one, Lord.”
Yeshua said, “Neither do I condemn you. Now go your way and sin no more.”
Kepharim (Letters, Optional)
17When we arrived in Yerushalayim, the brothers welcomed us warmlly. 18The next day Sha'ul went with us to see Ya'akovJacob, and all the ZakenimElders were present. 19When he had greeted them, he reported in great detail the things which HaShem[GN] had done among the Goyim through his ministry. 20When they heard this they praised HaShem. Then they said to him, “You see, brother, how many miriads of the Y'hudimJews have believed, and they are all zealous for the Torah. 21But they have been told that you teach all the Y’hudim who live among the Goyim to abandon [the teachings of] MosheMoses, telling them not to have a b'rit-milahcovenant of circumcision for their sons nor to follow our traditions. 22What do we need to do? They will surely hear that you have come. 23So do what we tell you. We have four men here who have also taken a vow. 24Take them, purify yourself with them, and pay their vow expenses for shaving their heads. Then everyone will know that there is no truth in the rumors they have been told about you, but that you are also still walking Torah. 25Now, regarding the Goyim who have come to trust in Messiah, we wrote a letter informing them of our decision that they should abstain from food that has been sacrificed to idols, from blood, from what has been strangled, and from sexual immorality.”
26So the next day Sha'ul took the men, purified himself, and went with them into the Temple to give notice of when the period of purification would be finished and the offering would be made for each of them.
C. Sha'ul Siezed by a Mob in the Temple Complex (21:27-30)
27The seven days were almost up when some unbelieving Y’hudim from Asia saw him in the Temple, stirred up a mob, and seized him. 28“Men of Yisra'el, help!” they shouted.” This is the man who goes everywhere teaching against the people, the Torah, and this place! Now he has even brought Goyim into the Temple and defiled this holy place!” 29(They had seen Trophimus, the Ephesian, in the city with him earlier and assumed that Sha'ul had brought him into the Temple.)
30The whole city was riled up and the people came running from everywhere. They seized Sha'ul and dragged him out of the Temple, and the Temple gates were immediately shut.
D. Sha'ul Rescued and Bound by Roman Soldiers (21:31-40)
31While they were trying to kill him, the commanding officer of the Roman regiment was told that Yerushalyaim was in an uproar. 32Immediately he took soldiers and centurions, and ran down to them. When they saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Sha'ul.
